I hope you have had an
enjoyable summer. It’s time to register for fall
classes, I look forward to dancing with you!
Classes resume Monday, September 8.
There will be 2 ways for you
to register with The Dance Center:
-
You can complete the
registration form with your class selections,
and mail in a $25 dollar non-refundable deposit
per class, and a $10 registration fee per
family.
-
You can come into The
Dance Center on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s
August 26, 28, September 2, 4 from 10:00 - 2:00
and 4:00 – 7:00
Saturday, September 6 from 10:00 – 2:00
You can also use this time to visit our Groove Wear
Store for all your dance wear needs. We strongly
suggest purchasing your dance attire early!

Class
Descriptions
|
|
Ballet: |
Instruction in the fundamentals of ballet technique concentrating on the development of correct alignment and placement. The class follows the traditional form of barre, centerwork, and ballet combinations. Hair should be off the face in a bun, see dress code for Ballet. (7 years - adults) 1 1/2 hour class. |
Creative Movement 1 & 2: |
The basics of dance are taught with a dramatic flair using props and children's literature. A wonderful educational introduction for preschoolers! (2.5 - 5 years) 45 minutes and 1 hour classes available. |

Ballet/Tap: |
A combination of Ballet and Tap basics. (Children 5 - 7 years) 1 hour class.
|
|
Ballet/Jazz: |
A combination of Ballet and Jazz at the intro level. (Children 5- 6, 7-9 years) 1 hour class.
|
| Jazz: |
Stylized Jazz dance forms and choreography to upbeat popular music. Body conditioning, increased flexibility, endurance, rhythmic phrasing and fun included. (Children 7 years - adults) 1 hour class.
|
| Tap:
|
Instruction in the basic techniques of Tap dancing. Dance combinations with musical phrasing, movement dynamics, soft shoe and musical theater are all aspects of this technique class. 1 hour class.
|
| Modern: |
Instruction in the basic techniques from various Modern schools -no one style is emphasized. Students lead combinations, rhythmic patterns, dynamics, space, and form. Also a high energy movement class. 1 hour class.
|
| Modern 1: |
For ages 10 and up. Must have at least 3 years of formal dance training. Modern 2 - Intermediate, Modern 3 - Advanced.
|
| Lyric: |
For ages 10 and up. A Ballet/Jazz based class, with the emphasis on stylized movement to music with lyrics. 1 hour class.
|
| Hip Hop:
|
A fun, energetic class, stylized dance moves from Jazz to street dances. Ages 7 and up. 1 hour class. |
|
Musical Theater: |
Instruction in drama and voice. Students are taught the basics of acting and characterization, are introduced to voice and vocal auditioning and are taught dances set to fun upbeat music with choreography designed for the stage. 1 hour class.

|
Jazz/Tumbling: |
A combination of Jazz dance technique and basic tumbling exercises. A fast paces class set to upbeat music. Ages 7 - 10. 1 hour class.
