Frequently Asked
Questions & Answers
HOW DO I CHOOSE A
CLASS?
Students are placed
according to age and ability. If at any time the teacher
feels that the placement is incorrect, you will be notified
and the situation will be rectified. The first priority is
to place children where they will progress, with the day and
the time of the class secondary. Please try to be flexible
with scheduling so your child can make the most of his or
her dance experience.
WHAT IF I MISS A
CLASS?
Good attendance is
necessary to ensure maximum progress in class. If an injury
does not allow you to take class, please come and watch.
There are no refunds for missed classes. Please phone The
Dance Center when a student will be absent and plan for a
makeup class. If at any time you wish to cancel your
program, please extend us the courtesy of a phone call or
note. We do not re-register each semester and will assume
you are continuing if we do not hear otherwise.
WHAT IS THE SNOW DAY
POLICY?
In case of inclement
weather, forecasts of large amounts of snow or unsafe
driving conditions, please call The Dance Center one hour
prior to your class to check if classes have been cancelled.
WHAT ABOUT RECITALS?
Our annual recital will
be held Jon a date to be announced at Monty Techs Stratos
Dukakis Theater in Fitchburg, MA. The Dance Center has 2 day
performances and 2 evening performances allowing each
student the opportunity of performing in 2 shows. After our
December Holiday Break, students will be notified which 2
shows they will perform in. Although it is not mandatory,
all students are encouraged to participate. Students who do
not participate will receive their regular dance training
and will not be excluded from their dance class. There is a
costume fee per class due in November with the balance due
in March. Please note that once the commitment is made,
there are no refunds. Costumes are ordered early to ensure
we receive them on time.
WHAT IF I AM LATE
TO CLASS?
Please plan to arrive at
The Dance Center early enough to be ready for the start of
class(es). Not only is it a matter of encouraging good
manners and responsible behavior, but lack of proper warm-up
can lead to unnecessary injuries. If you are late, please
enter the studio quietly.
WHERE
DO I WAIT?
Parents and students are
asked to sign in at the front desk upon arrival to The Dance
Center and wait in each studios designated waiting area. No
one is allowed in the dance classroom without a teacher.
Parents of younger students are asked to wait with their
student until class begins.
DURING CLASS
Students are not allowed
to enter or leave the studio without permission of the
teacher in charge of their class. Parents, guardians and
friends are not allowed in the class.
AFTER CLASS
Students must wait in the
waiting area outside their dance classroom for a parent or
guardian. For safety reasons, students may not leave The
Dance Center without a parent or guardian.
